Pupils Showcase their talents to the Arts Council England

Anglian Learning pupils demonstrated their passion for creative arts during a visit to Sawston Village College by the Arts Council England.  The event was hosted by Anglian Learning to showcase the diverse range of artistic talent within the Trust’s schools.

Darren Henley, CEO of the Arts Council England and his accompanying Directors, were entertained by pupil groups including the Sawston Village College pupil samba band, Stapleford Community Primary School’s choir who sang ‘Believe’ by Lin Marsh, and a folk ballet performance titled ‘The Fairy Ball from The Sisters of Elva Hill’, by dancers from The Netherhall School.

The Arts Council delegates also admired an exhibition of art from all of the schools within the Trust.

Anglian Learning’s CEO, Jonathan Culpin, commented: “We were thrilled to host a visit from the Arts Council England and be able to showcase a taste of the amazing talent of our pupils from within the Trust.”

“Many of our schools participate in the Arts Award and have an Artsmark Award status which is accredited by Arts Council England.  It is important to Anglian Learning that our pupils have the opportunity to explore, create and enjoy arts-related education and experiences.”

The Arts Council invest money from Government and the National Lottery to support arts and culture across the country.
