Wider Opening of Primary Schools
Following the Government’s confirmation and assurance on Thursday 28 May, that their five tests have been met and that primary schools can open to Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y6 pupils this week, Anglian Learning primary schools will be widening their school opening.
Anglian Learning’s top priority is the safety of pupils, their families and school staff. Each school has corresponded directly with parents and carers to confirm when their school will be open and to which year group. Confirmation about the availability of services such as school meals and breakfast club have also been advised by the school.
The schools have been able to widen their opening following extensive planning and arrangements being put into place as per the guidance received from the Department for Education. Social distancing measures in place, the creation of classroom ‘social bubble groups’ and other implemented changes have been communicated to staff, parents and pupils, together with detailed information within a list of frequently asked questions. Anglian Learning will continually monitor and review the wider opening arrangements.
In line with the current national guidance, schools will continue to welcome pupils of critical workers and vulnerable pupils. Support for home learning will remain until guidance changes. The support offered to these pupils is regularly reviewed to minimise the impact of not being at school for such an extended period.
