Anglian Learning are pleased to announce that The Icknield Primary School in Sawston has joined their family of schools.
This move which was finalised on 1 April 2021, expands Anglian Learning to be a Trust of eight primary schools, six secondary schools and two sixth forms within Cambridgeshire, Essex, and Suffolk.
Jonathan Culpin, Anglian Learning’s CEO, said: “We are absolutely delighted that The Icknield Primary School has joined our Trust. As one of the feeder schools into a Trust secondary school, it has always been an ambition that Icknield joins Anglian Learning, enabling us to work more closely on curriculum continuity, and shared pastoral oversight of pupils and families.
“Icknield shares our commitment to create an outstanding academy which is a source of pride for the community they serve.
“Governors, staff, and parents are all very positive about the school becoming a member of Anglian Learning. The support and collaboration that being a part of our Trust will bring will be of enormous value to the school’s whole community and to those who are already within our family of schools.”
Ishbel Coleman, Headteacher of The Icknield Primary School said: “We are excited to be part of Anglian Learning and are very much looking forward to working in close partnership with all the schools in the Trust. Our last set of published results showed that the school was enjoying great success, with some of the best results in Cambridgeshire. As part of Anglian Learning, we shall continue building on our commitment to excellence based around our school aim to ensure that we ‘thrive and achieve, together’. We will continue to contribute to the local community and to all those that it serves.”
