Inspiring Academy Renovations
It has been a very busy summer for our site teams across Anglian Learning, who have been overseeing a variety of renovation projects that aim to uplift and improve the working and learning environment for our staff and pupils. These projects have been funded by various funding streams, the majority of which is the School Condition Allocation (SCA) funding.
Four of our academies have had some fantastic work completed including new light fixtures and complete floorplan updates that provide a dynamic new environment.
We rely on the environment in which we teach and learn in to be as functional but inspiring as possible in order to provide a space that encourages growth and development of our pupils. Over at Howard Community Academy, work has been completed on a stunning new sports hall floor that allows for an array of sports activities to be coordinated, taking the physical education curriculum to the next level. It allows our pupils to take part in and thoroughly enjoy all sporting disciplines, no matter the weather.
Lighting conditions have a detrimental impact on our ability to stay focussed and motivated. Across a number of schools including Bottisham Community Primary School, Linton Heights and Stapleford, new LED lighting fixtures have been fitted which provide plenty of light in their classrooms all year round. With careful consideration to Anglian Learning’s commitment to contributing to carbon net zero, the old inefficient windows were replaced with modern UPVC to assist with heating and energy loss, subsequently reducing heating and energy loss through the colder months.
The science rooms in both Bottisham Village College and The Netherhall School have also had considerable work done. These improvements have made a positive change for the learning environments that will enable teachers to further push the Science curriculum to new heights.
Stapleford Community Primary School has undergone some major changes that give the space an entirely new look and feel. Tremendous efforts have been made by all in order to complete phase 3 of their refurbishment plan in time for the new academic year. The floor layout in the main building has been remodelled to provide an exciting open breakout learning space for pupils. The open plan layout not only modernises the appearance of the space, but by bringing down the walls we are encouraging the children to work together.
We are truly grateful for the coordination of these renovations, and a big thank you to all those involved. These changes ensure that Anglian Learning continues to provide learning environments that inspire and empower our pupils to receive an exceptional education experience.
