Marleigh First day of School opening
Following all of the many decisions, plans, discussions and of course the building of Marleigh Primary Academy over the last few years, we are delighted that the school has opened its doors to pupils today, Monday 5 September, for their first day of school. It is pleasing to see our vision for Marleigh Primary Academy come to life!
Staff have been extremely busy setting up their classrooms and creating engaging environments where pupils will be inspired and motivated to learn. As well as teaching environments, members of the Trust Central Team also had a busy few days moving into the shared office spaces that provide a fantastic open working environment.
Final touches within the building have been completed and the beautiful furniture that provides great functionality as well as a talking point for our staff, pupils and their families, has been fitted. For example, the Learning Centre, bespoke shelving creates an immersive environment for the school’s pupils to read and learn, with cosy reading nooks for one-to-one reading sessions.
We look forward to building a strong community at Marleigh Primary Academy, serving as a central hub for new families moving into the Marleigh residential area. A large part of the curriculum taught will reflect upon the area’s local history, as well as harnessing what Cambridge has become nationally recognised for on a business level. With emphasis on STEM subjects to bring awareness of a professional world to the pupils from a young age, aiming to cultivate grand ambitions for the future generation of Cambridge.
The opening of Marleigh has been long awaited and has only been possible with thanks to all members involved from Morgan Sindall Construction, RH Partnership Architects, Marshall Group, Hill, and especially Mike Fish, Headteacher as well as his school staff who have been working closely alongside the Trust Central Team.
