Technical Services Teams’ Activities
Over the Summer, the Technical Services Team undertook the significant job of setting up the Marleigh Primary Academy network from scratch with a variety of installations to provide great teaching and learning resources, such as iPads for staff and pupils, Class VR/AR headsets, BenQ screens and much more.
Our new collaboration platform “Connect” launched on 1 September, aiming to bring together all central resources and news, which represented the culmination of many months of planning and technical work.
Across the academies, the team provisioned over 130 new Chromebooks and even more iPads, nearly 100 interactive screens, as well as updating many dozens of desktop PCs. We have also undertaken several alignment projects, which aim to improve the efficiency by which support can be provided. All of these enhancements are in addition to the regular maintenance routines that the team undertakes.
As part of our on-going Cyber Security work, the restriction of USB storage devices is being implemented in order to reduce threat of data loss. We are also in the process of introducing Microsoft’s AppLocker solution for Windows devices, which will further protect our communities.
