Linton Heights appoints long-standing Deputy as Headteacher
Caroline Webb, who is the current Deputy Headteacher of Linton Heights Junior School, will succeed James Puxley as Headteacher from 6 January 2025.
Mr Puxley joined Linton Heights Junior School, part of Anglian Learning, as Headteacher in September 2014 and has led the school with drive and commitment. He will be taking up a post as Headteacher of The Bellbird Primary School in Sawston in the new year.
On his departure, James said “It has been a privilege to serve as Headteacher of Linton Heights Junior School. Over the years, I have been inspired by the ambition, resilience, and kindness of our pupils. Also, the unwavering support of our families and the dedication of our brilliant colleagues across the Trust.
“While this marks the end of one chapter for me, I will carry the memories of my time here in my heart. I cannot think of a more suitable successor than Mrs Webb, who will continue to lead the school to thrive in all aspects of education.”
Mrs Webb began her career as a qualified teacher in 2005. She joined Linton Heights Junior School in 2012 as Deputy Headteacher and worked closely with James to enhance the junior school’s educational offering, with a focus on high-quality teaching and learning.
Speaking of her appointment, Mrs Webb said “I am honoured to lead Linton Heights Junior School following James’ departure. The school has been a significant part of my education career, and I am fully aware of the place the school holds in the hearts of our community.
“My vision for the school is to continue producing resilient, reflective and independent learners who achieve their full potential.”
The school became part of a multi-academy trust, Anglian Learning, in 2016.
Rachael Johnston, Director of Primary Education for Anglian Learning, said “From the very beginning of the recruitment process, it was evident that Mrs. Webb was the ideal candidate for the role. As a Trust, we place great importance on our school’s communities and recognise the confidence her appointment brings Linton Height’s families. We are excited to see the school thrive even further under her visionary and inspiring leadership”.
