Friday, 10 October, marks World Mental Health Day. The awareness day aims to serve as a reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health.

Belonging by Design: Mental Health

Last year, Anglian Learning launched its Belonging by Design strategy, with one of the five strands being Mental Health. We are pleased to be working in collaboration with The Foundation of Young People’s Mental Health to progress this strand, with the charity helping our schools to select and implement evidence-based approaches for:

  • Preventing and identifying mental health conditions, such as depression
  • Supporting and managing pupils experiencing mental ill health.

Free Webinar Series

This year, we will be sharing a series of webinars, presented by Peter Templeton and Charlotte Catignani of YPMH, called “Mental Health: It’s Not All In The Mind”. The recordings will be shared with colleagues, parents and carers to improve their understanding of:

  • What depression is and what causes it
  • How to manage personal risk factors
  • How to support others effectively.

Part one of the series, due to be available soon, will explore the complex causes of depression and the biological changes that underpin it. Practical strategies will be shared on how to support yourself and your young people and effective ways to set and track personal goals, equipping participants with tools to support long-term wellbeing.
