Over Easter, three members of the Sawston Village College Debate Club attended a prestigious event at the Cambridge Union and got to challenge MPs on a range of political matters in front of an audience of 200 people.

Freya stood up and asked them about energy and whether we should drill in the North Sea, Asma challenged them on the problems facing our democracy, and George asked them why more wasn’t being done to combat violence against women and girls.

Well done to all of the pupils who participated and contributed to this crucial discussion.
