Towards the end of the Summer term, Anglian Learning hosted its final Academy Governance Forum of the academic year. The inspiring and forward-looking session brought together Chairs of Local Governing Bodies and governors from across our Trust. Also in attendance were Jonanthan Culpin, CEO, our directors of education and Head of Governance, Kerrie Jones.

We were honoured to virtually welcome guest speaker Samira Sadeghi, Director of Governance at the Confederation of School Trusts, who shared national insights and provoked thoughtful discussion on the future of governance.

Next Generation Governance

The forum centred on the theme of ‘Next Generation Governance’, with rich discussions around:

  • Where are we now as a Trust in our governance journey?
  • What does sustainable governance look like in practice?
  • How can we be more effective in our roles?
  • The unique value local governance brings to our schools.

The forum provided a valuable opportunity to reflect, connect, and look ahead with purpose as we continue to strengthen governance across our Trust to help benefit our pupils’ learning experience.
