DNA is needed for the growth, development, functioning, and reproduction of living organisms. The DNA of an organism is passed from one generation to the next, ensuring that the genetic information is inherited and maintained in living organisms. DNA plays a fundamental role in the continuity of life and the diversity of living organisms.

The strands of Anglian Learning’s DNA are our Core Values, Core Purpose, Core Vision and Core Principles.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Core Purpose and Core Principles. These are part of our Trust’s DNA, reflecting the evolution of Anglian Learning since its inception in 2016.

Our existing four Core Values are Aspiration, Community, Empowerment and Inclusivity. These are the starting points of what we believe in. Everything we do, no matter our position in the Trust, should be informed by and reference these values.

Our Core Purpose, essentially why we exist as a Trust, is ‘Transforming Together to enable inclusive and aspirational learning in every classroom, empower leaders across every academy, and ensure inspiring opportunities and educational success for our learners, people and communities’ is informed by these core values and shapes what we do and how we do it, leading to our Core Vision of:

Dynamic, empowered learners who thrive and lead in their communities: locally, nationally and globally.

The Core Vision is our aspiration for the young people in our care; defining what success will look like for them and our colleagues. Our blueprints define this vision in detail.

To fulfil these values and visions, we will embed our Core Principles into everyday decisions. The six principles apply to every staff member, setting out our commitments as fellow members of Anglian Learning. They will be applied at all levels but with context and help to form our decisions at school level, centrally and collectively.

Jonathan Culpin, CEO said: “We are delighted to be launching our Core Purpose and Core Principles which set out the mission of Anglian Learning and how we work together as a Trust to achieve our Core Vision. The Core Principles are one of the strands of ‘Our DNA’ and are intended to help staff and the wider community understand how and why we make the decisions that we do.

“The exemplifications of our Core Principles provides examples of what these Principles look like in practice depending upon the role staff have in Anglian Learning and, most importantly, how we make a difference to the experiences and outcomes for our children, young people and other learners.”

The below video encapsulates how these Core Principles resonate with colleagues.
