Anglian Learning’s first Central Team Conference
Since our inception in 2016, Anglian Learning’s central team has expanded in line with our Trust’s growth from 4 secondary schools to 10 primary, 6 secondary schools and two sixth forms.
For the first time, all departments of the central team including finance, HR, operations and premises, technical services, governance, inclusion, arts development, the executive leadership team and Anglian Leisure were invited to meet at Bottisham Village College in October for a Central Team Conference that focused on:
- Anglian Learning’s DNA
- Trust-wide priorities for 2024-25
- Sharing of ideas
This gathering provided the ideal opportunity for colleagues, who are based across our schools, to meet in person. Also, to understand the priorities for this academic year and learn more about each other’s roles and how they benefit our pupils.
Presentations came from James Woodcock, Director of Education: Professional Learning and Curriculum on how Our DNA resonates with the central team’s activities. Colleagues were asked to consider our Core Values and share a recent event or achievement that represented one of the values, with many inspiring examples given.
Directors then presented key priorities from their departments, including Richard Mayer, Director of ICT, on how Anglian Learning is ahead of the curve with Ransomware technology. Michelle Wilson, Anglian Leisure’s General Manager, spoke about Anglian Leisure’s investment in enhancing their facilities for our schools’ communities.
Later Rachael Johnston, Director of Primary Education, shared why teaching writing and spelling is a focus for our primary schools and Duncan Cooper, Director of Secondary Education, on empowering our secondary middle leaders across the Trust.
The day proved valuable in reminding colleagues of our collective purpose, no matter their role and contribution, and why we do what we do.
