Henry Morris Memorial Trust Awards
Secondary and sixth form pupils aged 13-19 within Cambridgeshire are encouraged to apply for the Henry Morris Memorial Trust Award. Successful applicants can be awarded up to £200 to go towards projects that involve travel or are home based. Regarding travel, this year there are no restrictions: students may apply for support to travel within the UK, or internationally.
An example of what type of funding students can apply for could be an expedition they wish to take at the end of their Year 10 studies, or if they are home based, funding for the purchase of materials. One successful applicant last year received funding to help restore two old cellos that were to be thrown away. Other students used their funding to help towards the travel costs of visits to Rome, Brussels and Italy.
The deadline for the next round of applications is 31st January 2024; students will be interviewed in the Spring. At present, the Trust is planning to conduct the interviews at Queens’ College. Application forms are available on the Henry Morris Memorial Trust website: www.henrymorris.org.
