Anglian Learning is a successful multi-academy trust based in Cambridgeshire, North Essex and West Suffolk, educating pupils from nursery through to sixth form.

We are an ambitious, forward-looking Trust of six secondary schools and ten primary schools. Our Core Purpose is to Transform Together to enable inclusive and aspirational learning in every classroom, empower leaders across every academy, and ensure inspiring opportunities and educational success for our learners, people and communities.

This purpose is underpinned by six Core Principles These principles guide how we work together as an existing group of academies but also inform our relationship with the wider education system.

Vision for Future Growth

Trustees are committed to further careful, sustainable growth of Anglian Learning. They believe that the impact upon the academies within our Trust demonstrates the benefits and capacity for improvement that comes from being part of a strong organisation of primary and secondary schools working closely together in a distinct geographical area and with a model that seeks to celebrate the community facing ethos of individual schools; where leaders have agency within our Trust’s values, policies, blueprints and frameworks to act as the expert practitioners while being open to the necessary professional support and challenge required to ensure all pupils can achieve their potential.

Why Join Anglian Learning

Schools and trusts consider joining Anglian Learning for several reasons.

We do not operate a one-size-fits-all model of school improvement. Our academies look and feel very different to each other. Leaders and colleagues are expected to exercise the professional judgement, knowledge and understanding that reflects their specific context, identity and community. At the same time, Anglian Learning provides extensive support and challenge; via its programme of curriculum and inclusion blueprints and frameworks, Sense of Belonging initiative, access to specialist SEND support, peer reviews, national experts and much more.

If you are a school or multi-academy trust that is interested in joining Anglian Learning, please contact enquiries@anglianlearning.org. We look forward to hearing from you.

Investment in our Academies

Anglian Learning can offer schools an extensive range of resources and opportunities that provide timely, expert advice and support. These include areas such as finance; human resources; ICT and estates. With access to nearly £1.8m of capital funding, our Trust can invest much more effectively and strategically in the development of a school’s estate, while finding savings in time and money that come with joint procurement and common solution finding.

Supporting our People

Anglian Learning has been founded on strong collaborative and trusting relationships, where everybody is committed to sharing their successes, but equally open to innovative ideas and alternative perspectives.

We believe strongly in investing in our most important resource: our people. Our leaders are involved in the co-construction of our work, whether that is undertaking peer reviews, leading on initiatives or projects and steering strategic groups and improvement networks. Our wider workforce is supported by access to a vast range of professional development programmes, a suite of employee benefits and career opportunities across Anglian Learning. We provide a caring, friendly environment in which to work.

Championing Good Governance

Reflecting our community-facing ethos, our Local Governing Bodies are an integral part of what it means to be part of Anglian Learning, focussing on key responsibilities relating to standards, SEND, safeguarding and stakeholders.

Alongside an expert, skilled and ambitious Trust Board, our Local Governing Bodies act as champions for each school, while also playing a critical role in advising and challenging leaders to deliver the very best for their children and young people. We are keen to hear from people of all backgrounds who would be interested in joining Anglian Learning as a Trustee or Governor.
