Trustees and leaders at Anglian Learning are very excited to have responsibility for working with partners from the DfE, the Local Authority, Marshall, Hill and Morgan-Sindall to create Marleigh Primary Academy as a key provision for families moving into the new Marleigh community on the eastern fringe of the City of Cambridge.
Marleigh Primary Academy will grow to be a two-form entry primary school with a 52 place Nursery. Leaders at Anglian Learning intend that the academy will be recognised locally and nationally as a centre of excellence in the quality and inspiration of the school environment and in the richness of the curriculum children experience. Reflecting the heritage of the site and the nature of the City, the curriculum will be led by a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects along with a direct focus on pupils acquiring high quality English competence as well as engendering a love for reading and the arts.
Trust leaders intend to engage leaders and staff from other Anglian Learning schools in designing the provision and the curriculum. In this way, Marleigh will reflect the aspirations for all children and young people in Trust schools and we will be able to maximise the resources made available to us as we establish the academy.
We have a strong vision for the academy which is due to open in September 2022. Our key intent is for Marleigh Primary Academy to be at the core of the Marleigh community and to ensure that the children of families moving into housing within the Marleigh development can have a place at the school.

The focus given to the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) reflects the business environment of Cambridge. Our curriculum will inspire, stimulate and enrich practically based experimental learning; preparing pupils for the next stage in their education and to take their place in a rapidly changing, increasingly technological world.
Underpinned by outstanding progress in core literacy and numeracy skills and enhanced by embedded learning in the creative arts; our curriculum will serve the needs of all pupils.
The curriculum will promote wellbeing and positive relationships as individuals and within groups, enabling pupils to build their resilience, experience risk and adventure and develop essential skills and attributes.
Pupils will be taught to understand how they learn and develop, inspiring a joy of learning and elevating their expectations which will be foremost in all aspects of the ethos of Marleigh Primary Academy.
