Thursday 11 July saw hundreds of pupils from across Anglian Learning’s schools assemble at Bottisham Village College to launch Stage 24, our first Trust-wide festival.

The celebration of dance included both primary and secondary school pupils. Each school showcased a dance routine or theme, helping to promote the importance of dance, the arts and physical activity offerings within the curriculum.

Event coordinators, Ryan Parker, Primary PE Trust System Leader and Helen Frost, Head of Dance and Enrichment Coordinator at Linton Village College provided schools with advice and ideas for their creative piece.

Ryan said “The event provided the real-life experience that goes with performing on stage and facilitated opportunities for our dancers to express themselves, whilst gaining a lifelong memory that comes with performing. We hope our dancers felt an authentic affiliation to their school’s dance team, and that they gained confidence and a personal sense of achievement from their contribution.”

Our thanks goes to colleagues who lead on the dance pieces for each school and helped with supervision on the day, to Lesley Morgan, Trust Arts Development Manager, who recorded a tutorial on developing choreography with pupils from Linton Village College to help schools and who captured dances on the day alongside Jez Brewer, Head of Performing Arts for Bottisham Village College. Also, to the Central Business Support and IT teams for their assistance leading up to and on the day.

We look forward to next year’s event!
