Sawston Village College Pupils perform at Shakespeare Schools Festival
Congratulations to the cast of Romeo and Juliet who performed at the Apex Theatre in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Pupils registered their interest in being part of this ambitious project in July and then began rehearsals in earnest in September, leading to their spending a day at the Apex Theatre for a tech run and dress rehearsal before the evening performance in front of an audience of over 250. Pupils were able to see the performances of two other schools, which were also taking part in the Festival, before performing themselves. The pupil cast, which involved pupils from Years 8 to 11, was led by Drama teacher Mrs Meikle.
