On Sunday 30 June, eleven members of Anglian Learning’s central team took part in Cancer Research’s Race For Life annual event in Cambridge.

The race invites people of all ages and abilities to join either a 5K or 10K race in aid of the charity. Ten members, who cleverly named themselves the ‘Sole Sisters’, opted for the 5K race, with Michelle Wilson, General Manager of Anglian Leisure, dusting off her running shoes and competing in the 10K run.

Setting off on a sunny, Sunday morning, the group (all wearing custom-made pink tops by a very talented member of the group!) trekked around the picturesque city centre, colleges and Jesus Green. Alongside other racegoers in their pink outfits, the team dedicated their race to their own and loved ones’ battle with the disease.

All participants finished the race with big smiles and were pleased to collect their race medals. Afterwards, the Sole Sisters had a picnic on Jesus Green which helped to re-energise for the rest of the day ahead.

We are so pleased to announce that the group has collectively raised nearly £2,000! Thank you to all who donated, to those who took part and to Julian Fox for helping and cheering us on along the way.
