It has been a pleasure this week to welcome delegates from school trusts to showcase the very best of what we do at Anglian Learning. The theme of the two-day event was navigating the tensions between tight and loose, through a look at:

  • Leadership culture
  • Decision-making principles
  • Empowering and developing colleagues
  • School improvement

Jonathan Culpin, CEO, opened the event with an introduction to Anglian Learning’s “story”, reflecting on the opportunities and challenges we have faced so far, and lessons the visiting multi-academy trusts can learn from our journey.

During their visit to Sawston Village College attendees heard from colleagues from across the college on topics including inclusivity, teaching and arts development, and how their approaches reflect the exemplifications of our Core Principles.

The second day took place at Howard Community Academy focusing on the inspiring journey they undertook on school improvement. Later in the day, attendees learnt of Anglian Learning’s involvement with the Creativity Collaboratives project led by Louise Scott, Deputy Headteacher at The Pines Primary School.

We want to thank colleagues from Whole Education schools for joining us, and are grateful for their questions and reflections. The Whole Education Network is powerful as a collegiate group of like-minded schools open to learning from and supporting each other as we navigating the complex worlds of education and school development.
