Primaries Geography Quiz
Primaries across our Trust recently took part in a brilliant Geography themed quiz, organised by staff at our Fen Ditton Primary School, and hosted at Marleigh Primary Academy. It’s always great to see events like this bring our pupils together, helping them get a better understanding for the benefits of their schools being apart of our Trust. Thank you to all who organised the event, specifically Fen Ditton Primary Schools’ Deputy Headteacher, Charlotte James. A big well done to all pupils who participated, particularly pupils at The Icknield Primary School for taking the win!
Charlotte James, Deputy Headteacher of Fen Ditton Primary School said: “It was a privilege to organise the first Anglian Learning Primary Geography Quiz with the help of other Geography leaders across the Trust. The event was a huge success and an opportunity to shine a light on geography and celebrate the wealth of geographical knowledge our children have. All the children displayed our core values and are a real credit to each of our schools and the Trust as a whole. Thank you to all the schools who took part and congratulations to Icknield who were this year’s winners- we hope this will become an annual event.”
Pupils from across our Trust thoroughly enjoyed the day, and one Year 5 pupil from Fen Ditton Primary School provided us with a lovely write up: “On Tuesday 21st February, Fen Ditton were really excited to get to Marleigh Primary Academy, since it was the first organised geography quiz. Everyone was very enthusiastic knowing there were going to be several other schools taking part.
The children enjoyed the different styles for each round, such as using the VR headsets, questions linked to numbers, maps, and anagrams of capital cities. Swapping papers with each other to mark our answers was fun.
As a result, the students came out of Marleigh with grins on their faces and laughing happily about the geography quiz. The pupils appreciated the day and wanted another quiz, or it to last longer!”
