Pupils Artwork Selected By Sky Arts
Artwork created by pupils from Marleigh Primary Academy made their TV debut as part of Sky Arts #AccessAllArts week.
The Portrait Challenge saw pupils tasked with drawing a member of staff from their school who they felt deserved to be celebrated. The artwork was then submitted to Sky Arts, who have chosen to feature two pupils work in shows broadcasted in June.
On Wednesday 21 June, Year 4 pupil Feraye’s portrait featured on the Portrait Artist of the Year: Celebrity vs Kids Special.
On Thursday 22 June, Year 6 pupil Mali’s portrait featured on Curtis Holder’s Portrait Masterclasses – Episode 4: Ears.
Also shortlisted was Year 4 pupil Mariyah, whose portrait was ‘highly commended’ by Sky Arts and may feature in a future programme.
Clare Draper, KS2 Teacher & Science Lead who led the project said: “We are absolutely delighted to see the artistic talents of the children recognised in this national competition. They worked incredibly hard and their achievement is thoroughly deserved.”
