Launch of our New Academy, Adult Learning and Sports Centre Websites
A website is an impressive communication platform which can be used to powerfully showcase our academies’ academic strengths, the importance of the Arts, sport and multicultural activities – all of which are key to Anglian Learning’s commitment to offer a broad and balanced curriculum. Through conversations with Headteachers and others, it became apparent that a number of our academy websites were in need of a re-design and modernisation. By procuring as one organisation, economies of scale could be achieved. Red Graphic in Sawston were selected to design and develop the 11 websites plus 3 Sports Centre and 3 Adult Learning / Education websites.
A design group was established to collectively agree upon a common direction of design for the websites. It was important that the school identity was prominent throughout the website as well as a clear presence of being a member of Anglian Learning. Navigation was to flow and be aided by a search function. A common set of templates were designed for engagement and having a choice of style to display multiple types of content.
Once the design was agreed, a group of Webmasters (nominated by and from each academy), worked collaboratively together with Sarah Golding, (Trust Marketing Manager) and Richard Mayer (Director of ICT) to implement each website. Together, decisions and actions were taken through the various stages to build a website: design concept, development, content loading and user acceptance testing.
We are delighted that seven of our academy websites and the 3 Sports Centre and 3 Adult Learning / Education websites are now live and the remaining four academy websites are due to be launched soon. This ambitious project has achieved its aims. Our thanks to those members of staff involved for their commitment, strive and willingness to work together to produce these striking new websites.
